waiting on the A train

It's like riding a bullet.
I am on 125th Street and the stop after this is 59th.
Meeting besr galpal downtown for a vegan dinner.
I need a dose of healthy.
My day was pretty uneventful.
I actually began working on a new home for this blog at Typepad. I did a test and the post appear a nanosecond after I pressed send on the phone.
I will have to change links and things on my other blogs, but it's no biggie. Believe I've changed hosts quite a bit over my blogging years.
Back at you soon.

today I need to freewrite till...

I get sorted out or until my hand drops off - whichever comes first.
One of the top items on my to do list is figuring out how to mobile blog to Typepad. Yes, I know I'm blogdizzy, but I like to host my various blogs at different places. Why? Just cuz. LOL
I like all the things you can do at Blogger, but it is free hosting, and that limits your ability to get issues resolved.
I ended up totally deleting a blog, because no one was available to help.
And I pursued help everywhere for weeks.
So far so good with this mobile blog though. Haven't had a bit of trouble since I began it.
One of my blog buddies wants to give this blog a redo for me.
This is a standard template, and I like it. It's neat and well-organized.
I'd like to add a customized header, and change the colors just a bit.
Well, time to say ciao for now.
Take care

good morning blogosphere

Wordpress.com just added a photoblog template to their line up that looks pretty amazing.
There's more tthan a little work involved if I switch my site over.
Then again I've done it before.
Let's see.
Have a marvelous day.
Frances coming at you from the uptown 1 train with all the usual suspects.

end of a mostly uneventful Monday

I 'm reading a writing, well actually it's a dieting not it's really about both, book I like.
Hubby is home after a long weekend with the kids, and we are going out for dinner so I can hear all about it.
I'm working on making some changes to a blog. What to do? I want to add some color and change the fonts to punch things up just a bit.
Tomorrow I'm taking a day for photography and such.
That's about it.
Take care.

an old friend from far away

is celebrating their birthday.
When I wrote the date on my rent check this morning something bing in my brain.
Later while chatiing with neighbors someone asked the date.
"the 5th"
and again I heard that bing.
"oh right, of course it's their birthday"
Happy Birthday Wherever You Are

creativity is running on high

bought my third domain name in two days.
I get like that sometimes.
As many as a half a dozen have been purchased in one afternoon.
First there was no rain for two weeks, and now it seems endless. It does clean things up so I shalln't complain.
Even if it's a monsoon Sunday I am going out.
Not made of sugar you know, so no fear of melting.
My pics from Tuesday's photostroll are finally up on flickr.
As soon as I am in front of a 'puter I am blogging a few.
Have a good day you all.

May Day 2008

My daughter is married 4 years today.
Yesterday she was 25 years old.
I'm 46 and feeling fabulous.
Life's good.

heading downtown on the C train

My camera is all set to take pics of The South Street Seaport.
That's my destination unless I suddenly go off course, and I have been known to do that!
The theme for this weeks Photo Hunt is TIME. I'm hoping to find something (s) for that too.
My Bloglines subscription has me totally teed off. The mobile version is on my laptop and the regular on my Sidekick ID.
The whole purpose of having an ID was so I could read my subscriptions on rhe go.
I am going to reset it tonight. If that doesn't work I will look into Google Reader.
I'm on the D train now heading for West 4th where I will switch for the A.
A tiny new baby is emitting king sized yowls from his stroller. He or she is quite unimpressed with mass transit.
Called my daughter to wish her a Happy B-day. Twenty-five today - wow.
I will be going up one day in May to spend the day with her.
Just made quit an entrance on to the A train. It left the station while I was still standing, and I pirouetted into my seat quite ungracefully.
My new jeans are incredibly comfy though boot style is not my favorite.
They were my size and 75% off - need I say more?

regrouping...

Stopped at one of my favorite places in neighbor for a bit of quiet and a snack.
I've been freewriting a lot the last couple of days.
After I'm done eating and visiting with my favorite waitstaff person - she's a great kid - I am going to write till the pen goes dry.
It was cloudy this morning, sunny this afternoon and chilly tonight.
Welcome to New York
There's an old saying here: If you don't like the weather - wait fifteen minutes - it will change.
Later

lazy afternoon

not much happening
everyone is walking around yawning
there's nothing like sunshine after three days of rain
blogged a bit
may blog a bit more
how are all of you

feeling fuzzy headed today

like the inside of my head is lined with shag carpeting.
Taking manana for myself.
Need a nice long walk with stops to photoblog.
I'm sitting on a Jersey bound bus, and two women across the aisle are working PDA phone keyboards.
I always wonder are they texting or blogging?
Back at you later

on an R train bound for Manhattan

Tonight I dined in Little India aka Jackson Heights, Queens.
The majority of Manhattan's Indian restaurants are for amateurs. Jackson Heights is where you go for the real dealio. My meal included a dosa filled with spicy potato, mulligatawny soup and appetizers whose names I can't pronounce much less pronounce.
My dinner companion was Punjabi and ordered for us in Hindi.
I just sat back and enjoyed the sight, scent and taste of it all.
I have tomorrow all to myself, and there's about a billion things I'd like to do.
Need to narrow the list down just a bit you know.
I hardly got to blog or bloghop today, because some extremely noisy work was being done on our wall.
Everything is everywhere, but we'll straighten it all out on Monday.
Right now all I want to do is go home and soak in the tub.
Afterwards I will catch up on my blogging or fall face first onto my futon.
Any kind of renovation or repair work makes me crazy. I hate strangers wielding power tools in my personal or work spaces. They did do a nice job on the wall. so I will eventually forgive them for all that noise. Jeepers my fillings hurt from it!
One more short stop and I'm home.
Everyone give yourself a great big hug.

Feeling like warmed over leftovers

It's funny Sunday through Friday I can get up any time that I like, and on those days I am up and about by seven thirty.
Sometimes the freakin' laundry is done by nine!
Saturday is the onliest day I must be up early, and my butt is dragging three feet behind.
I have to turn around and yell at it to keep up every few minutes.
Catch ya later.

from NJ to NYC and back to NJ

Yep, I am on a train bound for New York so I can take a subway to the bus that will take me back to Jersey.
It was easier than trying to get from Point A to Point B in Jersey.
I have a German couple to my left, and a woman with two rambunctious little girls to my left.
The older one has the face of an angel, and the younger the eyes of the devil
Back at ya soon.

Nails done finally

I can not remember my last manicure. It must have been a month ago. This morning I decided I could not go another step until something was done.
So now I am tapping out this post with neat looking nails. No polish. With all the time I spend on the keyboard they would be a disaster of chips in an hour.
Kind of tired. Just could not get to sleep last night.
Hopefully the Sandman will get the right address tonight.

coming at you from the GWB

George Washington Bridge
On my way to Jersey.
The river is a bit fiesty today; the water is rocking and rolling.
The bus driver must be a former race driver. Everything outside the window is a blur.
No one is ringing the bell for stops either.
This will be the quickest trip ever.
Everyone have a great day.

blogging over a French Vanilla Decaf

Thank goodness for PDA type cellphones.
I'm sitting here in Dunkin' Donuts waiting for a friend to arrive- she's driving in from Jersey. While i've waiting I sent an email to Heart via MMS, text messaged best galpal and am now posting here.
If you had told me two years ago that I would be ding things like this I would have so wet my pants laughing.
Oh by the way there should be three pictures right beneath this post.
They are costumes from The Lion King.
They are being displayed at the mall in Columbus Circle.
I have to drop by there with my regular digital camera and take some more.
Speaking of my camera it's right in my bag - I was hoping it wouldn't rain.
Looks like my wish is going to come true.
Catch you all later.
Much bloglove to all.

a t-shirt day

It's 66 degrees out, so I got out the first t-shirt of the season. Black over black jeans, I shall ease into spring time colors gradually.
Last night's dinner with best galpal was fun.
Getting together with another friend Sunday.
She lives outside of New York. We have plans for a major photostroll, and progressive meal. I'm hoping it doen't rain.
Everyone have a fantabulous Friday

off to meet best galpal for dinner

Nothing like a juicy burger with a side of girltalk.
The nan in the seat across from me is wearing the coolest t-shirt.
It has a repeat pattern of Chuckie's - you know from Child's Play - all over it.
Attack of the killer dolls on the 2 train LOL
Everyone enjoy your evening

just wanted to say hey

Zoning out like it's Monday morning.
It's the allergies making me feel groggy.
I feel like sliding right across this subway bench and going back to sleep.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz...

decided to take the day for myself

a last minute decision.
Tried to sleep in but no success.
Strangest dream that rats were taking over the world.
Scenes of devastation were very clear in my mind. as were rats.
ewwwwwwww.
But I didn't wake up scared, wondering what a dream interpreter would say about it.
On the downtown train going to meet a friend for lunch.
Signs of spring are everywhere.
Including allergies - achooooooo!

on my way down to

the Main Post Office at 34th Street.
I had a very weird day, that's ending quite nicely.
When I got home I found a letter from a collection agency. Someone opened a phone account in my name ten years ago, and didn't pay the bills. I didn't know a thing about it until two weeks ago when i got a bill.
The first time I called the place I got an awful person. I took a chance and called again. The woman I spoke to investigated everything and declared it fraud.
I was so lucky it was never reported to any credit bureaus.
Needless to say I am investing in one of those services that monitors your credit report.
Happy Trails Muchachos!

boys and girls I am beat

I spent a good part of Sunday cleaning and throwing things out.
It takes a lot of energy to go through stuff you've been accumulating for years.
On the plus side you do experience a great calm when you are done.
A good Monday to one and all.

too many to dos

Just got on the train. I am beginning to wish that I could moblog to all my sites.
I will be on the go till Tuesday.
I've four lists all set up. tonight, Sunday morning, Monday morning and Monday night.
What's all the fuss? They are going to be renovating the building in a few months, and all the contractors are coming to take measurements.
I've got 26 years of clutter to clear out of their over the spring and summer.
I made some headway this week, there are already two bigs bags for the Salvation Army, and two bags of books to give to assorted neighbors.
As soon as I am in front of a computer I have to print up tax forms - Tuesday is the 15th already.
Everyone have a wonderous Saturday.

morning from the #1 train 4.11.08

I dreamt of an old friend last night.
I've been meaning to call them for 2 weeks at least.
It's number one on the after lunch activity list.
Hehe hope they have a juicy bit of gossip to spare.
You know it feels like a Monday morning - eeewwww!
Oh well I'll get over it.

across the Hudson River

Pavonia Arcs

Reflections

Daffydills

These smell great

Welcome to Newport Pavonia

off to a day at Pavonia Newport Mall

Haven't done any photoblogging with this camera phone yet - let's see how it does.
Right now I'm heading to Jersey via the Path Train.
It's a subway, but the vibe is totally different from ole New York.
It is much cleaner and quieter.
There is no one doing a magic show. In Mahattan there is an elderly Hispanic man who does a complete magic show on the A train. He even pulls a real rabbit out of a hat.
No one is conducting a sermon, nor is anyone singing acapella for change.
Need I tell you that I prefer New York Transit to the Path any day of the week.?

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

feeling frightfully lazy but

I've got stuff to do today.
Downloading tax forms is the first item on my list.
I've crunched the numbers already, and they just have to be neatly copied over to fresh forms.
The numbers actually look good this year.
Thank you universe.
NaBloPoMo is going pretty well at my creative writing blog. I'm just glad that I am sitting down everyday and expanding on this character I have grown so close to.
Okay here's my stop.

grooming while in transit

You see it all in New York.
Women get on the train with their hair in curlers, and by time they reach their stop they are fully combed out and made up for the office.
This morning a woman on the platform gave herself a complete facial.
I love NYC

Saturday, April 5, 2008

time to decompress just a bit

I'm in the mood for a raspeberry spritzer and some low cal nibbles.
I'm off to one of my neighborhood haunts.

Friday, April 4, 2008

just walked a mile crosstown

waiting for a bus to take me the rest of the way.
Hoping for good weather Sunday so I can photostroll.
Had a nice day. Put together a resume for one friend and a reference letter for another.
When I get home I have to taxes for a third.
Just call me Forms Central.
I actually filling out forms - it makes me feel very organized.
Ciao for now

morning from the GW Bridge

waiting for a bus to whisk me off to my bud in suburban Jersey.
It's the 4th of April already. Couple more weeks till warm weather on a daily basis.
Visions of long photostrolls flash on my mind's screen.
No more coats.
Coats are a necessary evil in my book.
I'm already making a mental list of places that I want to photograph for the blogs.
Here's my bus.
Ciao for now.

morning from the #1 train 04.03.08

Today is Thursday and I spent all of yesterday thinking it was Tuesday.
Weird feeling to lose a day.
Trying to get some thoughts together for today's NaBloPoMo post.
What will Bianca get herself in to?

tightening connections

on the cable box .
Last night the TV began acting up, so I called technical support.
I managed to get all the connections tightened by myself.. You never know how much stuff you have till you have to move it to get to the back of a wall unit.
Note to myself - get rid of the thing and replace it with a simple TV stand.
I feel like one of the Santini Brothers. If you know who I am talking about you just gave away your age.

starting the week off quietly

venti skinny decaf with sugar free hazelnut
writing for an hour in my notebook
people watching from my window seat at Starbucks
the rain predicted days ago finally arrives
everything is going to be okay
a new writing project for the month of April
actually it could be two if I get really ambitious
will I?
I don't know about that
the first of April is still a day away
all I know is everything will be okay
no matter what I decide

Sunday, March 30, 2008

so where is everybody going?

It's Sunday noon and the train is packed.
Even the very last car where I like to ride because you can always get a seat. Well, where you can usually get a one.
I bagged this because the three people sitting directly in front of me got out at Lincoln Center.
My well-planned out day got completely turned around, which is fine. This usually means that I am now open to adventure and new discoveries.
Definitely going to find a quiet place to write for a while, but actually lunch is top of my list. Starving. I'm thinking soy burger with carrot tahini at Dojos.
Then maybe a look-see at the IFC or Angelika to see what's playing.
And of course the camera is with me.

re: wet hair

I wouldn't recommend going back to sleep with freshly washed hair.
Moving your head about on the pillow while it's drying creates some interesting configurations.
I'm hoping mine will settle down in a little while.

from the #1 train 03.27.08

My day started with good news. Thank you Universe.
Got most of my errands done, and the only thing left on the list is paying some bills online.
Haven't posted to my main blog yet.
Hopefully I will be inspired while I am out and about.
Perhaps a muse will board the train at the next stop.
Hmmmmm a decaf hazelnut latte would just hit the spot, but alas my destination is Starbuckless. Can you imagine?
May you all find your muse today.

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

could we rewind this morning?

Jeepers it's only just after noon and I'm exhausted.
Got up, ran down the laundry room to throw in a load, took a bath, blow dried my hair, dressed and was back downstairs just as the machine was finishing up.
After everything was hung to drip dry it was off to Rite Aid to shop.
When I got back to the building a half hour was spent talking with management about various issues.
I am so done.

sad kinda bluesy songs and skinny lattes

The music coming over the speakers here at Starbucks reminds me of that song from that old Robby Benson movie Ode to Billie Joe.
When I was a teen I thought Robby Benson was the bomb.
Right now Javier Bardem is my 2008 bomb - who knows if he'll have that position in '09.
A homeless man wandered into Starbucks and decided to scream and curse.
No one even looked up.
Let me tell you New Yorkers can block anything out.
It's been a nice afternoon doing nothing particular.
It's been a series of short walks - no more than 15-20 blocks with stops for rest.
Right now with my ankle and knee the way they are I can't do 50 and 60 blocks continuously.
Hopefully come the warm weather I'll be able to again.
Time for a notebook writing session.

headphones

Just about everyone on this bus is wearing head phones.
One guy's music is so loud I thought a radio was on.
You know I bet I could sing out loud or holler fire and no one would notice.
There's a young Asian girl reading Cosmo to my right. Her head is bent and she has an expression on her face like it's a deeply religious experience.
Opposite her a middle-aged lady in what can only be described as Pilgrim shoes, reads the Times in a similar mode.
As for me boys and girls I am happily blogging my way to the Upper East Side.
Waving at you all from New York

not a bad Monday...

It had a few moments, but all in all was not bad.
Going to take the train a couple of extra stops and have a bit of a walk before I head home.
I posted some pics of The Macy Flower Show windows on my main blog.
In a perfect world there would be no reflections on the glass but alas...
See you in the funny papers.

I know I'm getting old but seriously...

this generation of teen-agers expects to be instantly gratified twenty-four seven.
I was in a coffeevar this morning and at the table next to me were three teen-agers. Actually the girl was a tween - about 11 or 12 years old. They were all sipping four buck coffee drinks and outfitted with cell phone and Ipods.
so what will they expect for their 16th birthdays? Porsches?
Oh and did you love that term tween? It's a whole new market to bombard with non-stop advertising.
Why not? Mom and Dad will pay for it to keep them occupied and out of their way.
Here's my stop.
Cheers.

Saturday, March 22, 2008

time to chill

out with some low cal libations and snick snacks.
My notebook and pen await me.
Hopefully my favorite waitstaff person will be on duty. Love to have a bit of a chitchat with her.
The subway car is packed with people off to enjoy their Saturday nights.
I'm going to Curves Monday morning to give it a look-see. It could be just what I need.
Cheers Chums

feeling very upbeat

even though there's a big pile of laundry waiting for me at home.
Hopefully I will get it done tonight, and have Easter all to myself.
Haven't nailed down my plans yet, but I'm thinking dinner in Brooklyn with best gal pal.
One thing I better do first thing in the morning is henna my hair. Grey is trying to peek through. I love how it looks so fiery the first couple weeks.
Okay so let's get through this day.

Friday, March 21, 2008

I looked longingly at my new t-tops...

and then put on my bulky pullover - me need spring.
I am happy that my knee and ankle are hurting less.
It's the usual suspects this morning on the train: the sleeping man, the sleeping woman, two guys comparing cell phone features and one teen-ager who is definitely is definitely up to something.

Change

I need one.
Know what I ought to do, but just have not got around to really doing it.
Am going to participate in a team blog starting tomorrow.
Have a feeling it's going to be life enhancing.
Where would I be without the Web?

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

ten hours sleep

can make a huge difference.
Everything aches a little less.
It's raining. One of those steady rains that will last a whole day, but that's okay I have all inside stuff to do today.
I put up a pic of the Trinity Root for Wordless Wednesday over at my meme blog.
Going to work on something for Thursday Thirteen this afternoon.
My creative writing blog has been to quiet perhaps I can do something with it.
Happy Posting

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

would love to post something highly

entertaining and/or inspirational, but nothing like that is available at the moment.
Last night I took a bit of a personal iinventory.
You need to do that occasionally, because we can forget where we are sometimes, even though we have the physical address.
Accomplished something very cool financially; I got my credit card company to halve my interest rate.
You know if you call in to them now and again they can tell you about special offers available for your account.
Cheers.

top o' the morning

to you all.
I am very much in touch with my Irish side this morning.
On the train headed uptown - didn't have time to stop for decaf - but I got half of my to do list done already.
Happy St. Paddys to you all!

Sunday, March 16, 2008

from Amsterdam Avenue

Waiting for my favorite mother daughter to meet me for Thai food.
Actually got some stuff done this morning, and I am hoping to get more done when I get home.
A lady sitting in front of the bar down the street is happily smoking while gabbing on a cell phone.
Oh how I miss ciggies, especially after I eat, especially while I am having a drink or a latte...
My health has improved much since I let them go, except for my weight which has skyrocketed.
I am going to be part of a group effort soon, and things will improve.
I spent some time updating my Bloglines today. The site works really well on PDA type phone devices. My favorite feeds are totally available to me while I am riding the bus or waiting on line at the bank.
Guess I am truly bloghappy lol.
Take care

a new day

on the 1 train heading uptown.
Hanging out in Jersey today.
Monday is St. Paddys and I am looking forward to corned beef, cabbage and beer.
Funny I grew up totally Italian, no contact with any relatives of my mother's, yet as I get older I am beginning to identify with my Irish side more and more.
And it is actually quite a nice thing.

Friday, March 14, 2008

this morning...

stank.
If that bad start good finish thing is true, then my day should end very very well.
Then again my ankle and knee are much better, and for that I am very grateful.
Everyone be well.

out with a bang

That's AM New York's headline today.
I was no big fan of former New York Governor Spitzer, but I didn't dislike him either.
Long ago an acquaintance was running for some PTA type office at the local elementary school.
She told me, "You never know how many enemies you have until you run something."
Wonder what the people who have friends are getting away with?

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

on a Jersey bound bus

The Hudson River aand sky are all shades of grey and silver.
I like overcast weather; my eyes are so sensitive to sunlight.
Sunday was nice. I'm trying to get used to the new camera, but I am really not satisfied with the pictures yet.
Guess it takes a minute to get used to something new.
I posted some b&w photos of Trinity Church Cemetary on my main blog. I've always found that a peaceful place to visit.
Here's my stop.
Later.

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

spent a day just hanging out

with a friend who is leaving on a trip tomorrow.
We walked all over Lower Manhattan, and had a thoroughly decadent lunch at Les Halles which included escargot, warm potato salad, marinated hangar steak and frites. I gotta cut eating like this out toot sweet.
I'm on the train heading home to a hot bath and a major blogging session.
How are all of you?

Monday, March 10, 2008

no agua

The city has been doing some work on our street, and this morning they turned off the water with no notice.
I had taken a bath the night before as usual, but a morning splash starts my day off well.
My fash was washed with ice water from the fridge, and in leiu of brushing I used a high voltage mouthwash I keep for just such occasions.
The 1 train is above ground right, and will soon be underground.
Signing off as bathless in Manhattan.

Sunday, March 9, 2008

just met one of my she who blogs buddies

I was fresh from the bath; my hair was still wet.
Popped open the laptop to read some e-mail while I air dried.
It was 2 or 3 minutes till eleven.
The subject line said: I'm in New York.
My blog buddy - a pastor - would be preaching at a church 8 blocks from my apartment. The service would begin at 11, and I had a friend coming in from New Jersey.
Don't ask me how I did it, but I did.
And I've got photos which will be on my main blog later
It was amazing.
Right now I am heading downtown to meet my friend for a late lunch.

we have sprung forward

Just woke up.
My head feels like it was in a vice all night.
I've never been able to figure out why we need an extra hour of daylight in the spring.
I would have preferred it got darker later in winter.
Sunday and it looks pretty clear out.
I really want to take some pics today.
Still getting used to the new camera.
Every picture I take with it seems slightly off - at least to me.
Let me give this phone a charge and get one more hour of sleep.

from a table in Starbucks 03.07.08

Sipping a steamed milk with hazelnut.
Some sort of 70ish rock coming over the speakers. Kinda cool. Sorta bopping to the beat here in my seat.
Had a long scribble session in notebook.
So much came up and out.
Going home to a hot bath and some TV.
Gotta get up early tomorrow.
How are all of you?

good morning from the 1 train

Last night I did a list of things I used and saw during the week that I thought other might like to try.
The lists are for NaBloPoMo March '08.
I am already trrying to think of something for tomorrow's post.
There is an awful little man trying to flirt with me; he is sitting several seats away from me.
Awful little men play a numbers game. They figure if they make eyes at everyone the odds will eventually turn in their favor.
Not this morning buddy.

Thursday, March 6, 2008

where did all this pep come from?

I feel marvelous darlings absolutely marvelous.

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

from the 1 train 03.05.08

It's another rainy day.
Spring where are you?
I have my camera with me today. I'm hanging with my very techy friend today, so we will work on the menus and functions together.
Doing blog365 and March NabloPoMo is quite a challenge, and I am loving it.
Yesterday's day to myself was fabulous except for the lack of good light for photography. Boooooo rain.
See you all later.

a rainy afternoon to myself

My ankle and knee were about 80% better when I woke up this morning.
It was like being reborn.
A quick look at NY1 revealed a temperature of 61 degrees. This deserved something special so I donned my snappy new black zip up jacket. It has white and pink trim - too cute. I wore it with my black jeans and t-shirt.
After checking in at my blogs, and posting a Ten on Tuesday at my meme blog it was time to get on the subway.
I got off at Penn Station and walked downtown.
Lunch was awesome - Vietnamese - and no dessert because some poundage has to come off for summer.
After lunch I walked some more; it felt so good to not be limping.
The rain started to get heavy so now I am in favorite Italian coffee house on Houston. Soccer is on the set, and I am the only woman in the place.
My writing will be undisturbed for hours.

Two Days Without Moblogging

Can you believe it?
Guess every blog needs a bit of a rest.
I began NaBloPoMo for March on Saturday at blogjem.
My first list was about things that I want to do before I'm fifty.
The next about things that irritate me.
I posted the first three pics from my new camera . All of them are of the same squirrel - cute little rascal.
I have a couple of errands to run today, and then I am going to work on some pics.
Everyone have a wonderful Monday.

From a table at Starbucks Leap Year 2008

So I get back into the city and head straight to venti decaf and sandwich.
Thank you universe. The place wasn't crowded.
So I sat and wrote in my notebook till I had it all sorted out.
Now I am heading to Duane Reade where I shall treat myself to a facial mask and a deep hair conditioning pack.
Ciao for now.

Owwwwwwwwwww!

Snow and rain are coming.
I had just finished dressing when the spasms in my ankle hit.
Now I am sitting here over a half hour waiting for it to calm down enough so I can walk.
The place smells of lavender and vanilla; I did two loads of sweaters and stuff today. It's a very calming scent.
The Soundscapes channel is on. It plays new age stuff all day. Hey, what can I tell you? I'm trying everything.
Hope you are all well.

from my futon 02.27.08

Just ordered in some chicken and string beans.
Tried to eat as right as I could today.
It feels good to be home; it's totally freezing out.
I think I want to start a group diet/fitness blog. The support might help me get myself together food and exercise-wise.

from the 1 train 02.27.08

Bad nights sleep.
Was sorting clean laundry at 5 in the morning.
Nodded off at 8 and managed to get three more hours.
Got out a pair of my black jeans to wear and could barely button them.
Summer is around the corner and if I don't do some dieting quick I may end up wearing the dreaded mumu.
Got to start dieting or something.
Uh oh this may require a new blog.

from the 1 train 02.26.08

Morning all.
Got a table at Starbucks where I sipped decaf, wrote in my notebook and chatted on my cell phone.
It was an hour well-spent.
I am totally grateful to the universe because my aches have considerably lessened.
A friend of mine is taking a three hour class by phone, and I am off to help.
See you all later.

No Room at Starbucks

There are two right near my building, and both were jammed. That meant no decaf or one of the fast food places. I opted for Dunkin Donuts, and the coffee is not bad at all.

The weather is much better today; last night I was so racked with pain I lost my breath. My knee and ankle are about 50 % better.

I'm off to write in my notebook.
Much bloglove to all.

Sunday Afternoon Mini Update 02.24.08

Read some of my new book at Starbucks while sipping a decaf caramel macchiatto. Took some time to rant a bit in my notebook, as well as make some goals for myself.

Writing things down helps them happen,, so i will often write how I would to see things play out.

I am moblogging from my Blackjack phone, hence the presence of titles. My beloved Nokia did not allow me to do this.

Very hard for me to make the switch. It took a couple of months actually; I got this new phone at least two months ago.

That's me - can not do anything till I am ready - good and ready.

Take care.

Decompressing on a Saturday

Having a bit of comfort food and a raspberry seltzer. Going to write in my notebook for a while - I need to rant a bit and then set some short term goals. Hoping for warmer temps tomorrow so I can photostroll. Cheers

Can You See a Title?

If you can then that means that I did it right.

Multimedia message

You know how the last hour of a school or work day is the longest?
That's how I feel about spring.
These next few weeks will seem longer than the few months before them.
I thought I'd pop in here for a minute before I make my final decision about lunch.
It's either a large salad or Chinese.
It's neither very cold or warm today, and I haven't come up with anything for my main blog, but a link to my Photo Hunt pics.
The theme was wood, and I was able to find a few in my collection.
Maybe some bloghopping will inspire me, or a writing session in my notebook.
Take care

Multimedia message

We have one of these winter wonderland things going on this morning.
The Mega Millions jackpot is so big even I went to play.
Stopped for a latte and to call Heart.
Now I'm on a train headed uptown.
Catch you all later.

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Multimedia message

It's 25 degrees this morning. Quite different from Monday's balmy 60ish temps.
I dream of spring like others dream of winning the lottery.
Had to wrap my ankle last night, it's been quite a while since I've had to do that. There must be a lot of snow heading this way. My knee and ankle are rarely wrong, but honestly I would love it if they were this time.
Hope you all are well.

Multimedia message

Sitting in Borders books, I took another day for myself.
Looking through a few books on blogging. What a surprise right?
Also did some writing in my notebook.
And of course I made a few calls on the cell phone.
Speaking of calls I made a few on the cell phone, and actually I have a couple more to do, so I will scoot for now.
Later.

Multimedia message

It's 62 degrees and raining here in New York.
I bought myself a fresh notebook to break in tonight at Starbucks.
Strange dreams woke me up at 3:14am and it took almost 4 hours to fall back asleep.
It's a holiday so a lot of people are on the train running errands, and heading for The Presidents Sales all over town.
Abe, George and the rest must be looking down and shivering.

Saturday, February 16, 2008

Multimedia message

Heading downtown on an A train.
Got a picture of two really neat bassett hounds today.
When a bassett wags his tail it goes round and round like helicopter propellers.
I just love it.
Going to stop off for a drink, snack and a writing session.
I need to decompress big time.

Multimedia message

Saturday - another week gone.
They fly by so quickly now.
Where are those days that seemed to last forever? Remember how long we waited for Friday afternoon back in grammer school?

Thursday, February 14, 2008

Multimedia message

In Starbucks trying to calm myself down.
I spent 34 minutes on the phone with a customer service supervisor, excuse me stupervisor is a better term.
Where do they find them?
On the sunny side of the life I was pleased to once again balance my budget.
NaBloPoMo is going to be a monthly event, and I am just crazy enough to give it a go. They are doing themes and the first is lists.
This would mean I would do separate post for both NaBloPoMo & blog365 every day in March?
I keep asking myself: "Am I that crazy?"
I just might be.

Multimedia message

Not a bad afternoon.
Had a delicious lunch of authentic Punjabi food. Not the restaurant variety, it was home-made stuff.
Totally yummy.
On a train headed for mid-town.
Managed to get my Wordless Wednesday up before noon.
There are so many participants now; I was #443.
Have you all picked your Valentines?

Multimedia message

It's a slushy wet day.
I'm wearing boots.
I hate wearing boots.
Hopefully the rain will keep up all day & wash this mess away.
Started my 13th off with laundry.
There's something about getting my clothes done that makes me feel very organized.
Now if I coud just get everything else sorted out...
This week I mostly photoblogged over at my main site.
A written update is in order.
While my duds were working I watched the remake of Halloween.
Rob Zombie did a pretty terrifying job there.
Well, almost at my destination have a good day you guys.

Multimedia message

The subway is a little more crowded than usual.
Sometimes I look around a crowded subway car and wonder what people are thinking about.
A meeting? A bank job? A tryst?
Me? Nothing other than reading my email. I'm on a wherever the day takes me basis.
Have my Flip along I've been practicing with it.
There's no debut planned for this week.
I'm still learning about editing and stuff.

Multimedia message

Just boarded the F train. Heading to Brooklyn to celebrate best gal pal's birthday.
After lunch I headed home to get my laundry done.
I won't wear jeans twice so things pile up fast.
Also mixed up a batch of henna, going to do my hair tonight. I'm never going to use anything else on my hair. It's all natural and gives results that look real.
The girl did a good job considering she looked like she'd been out all night.
My hair is long in front and angles back to very short in the back.
Reminds me of my mother. She wore her very long hair up with "wings" on the sides.

Multimedia message

Hair done.
Nails too.
Sunday morning is great - no waiting.
Burlington has clearance sales going on; I got two pair of jeans for less than 23 dollars. What a score. One pair is a wonderful shade of khaki green. Now I have to find a white or cream colored casual top to go with them.
Having Chinese for lunch - here's my shrimp roll - back at ya later.

Saturday, February 9, 2008

Multimedia message

Decided to stop in at one of my favorite neighborhood spots.
Having raspberry sparklers and some appetizers.
Taking the next two days for myself.
Getting my hair and nails done tomorrow.
Taking The Flip out for a spin in Central Park after that.
Got my account all set up at You Tube now all I need to do is upload something.
Today I went to a Photoblogging community and chose a random site.
It was the most delightful photos of India. Fantastic colors, children leaping into the air, senior citizens with beautifully lined faces, it was simple images that took your breathe away.
I'm looking forward to a long soak in the tub, and then some blogging.

Multimedia message

Saturday morning & all is quite right with my world.

Multimedia message

Sitting here in Starbuck's having a sandwich and lemonade.
This morning I found that one of my favorite bloggers gave me an award on his site.
It was quite an honor because this man is a phenomenal writer.
My friend Heart's birthday was on the 7th. He traveled for many months, and is now in his homeland.
As soon as he is settled we will be able to have a nice long talk on the phone.
We only communicated by email for these last months.
And believe me when I tell you he had to really hunt for Internet access.
Sometimes I would worry because I hadn't heard for two weeks, and then suddenly there was an email and several comments on the blog.
Yay! That meant he was in an area with electricity and a computer.
During the week I will be writing posts on my main blog about our good times together.

Multimedia message

There's only 2 things left on the To Do list.
One is easy, the other kind of detailed, but hopefully I'll get it out of the way as quickly as possible.
Last I began going through my bookshelves. Blogging about that on my main site later.
I still miss morning caffeine; it is so hard to wait for the clouds of sleepiness to clear without it.
Started my day with a facial to get the blood flowing, or at least look like it's flowing.
Have to get my hair done this weekend - a cat wouldn't drag me looking like this.
Here's my stop.

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Multimedia message

Good morning.
It's 53 degrees - practically summer - makes me want to tap dance down Broadway.

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Multimedia message

Last night I tore up old journals.
It is my way of casting my cares.
I have a couple more to do tonight.
This morning I woke up with a new project fully planned out in my mind.
It was not like I went to bed with an idea that blossomed, this wasn't even a glimmer of a passing thought.

Monday, February 4, 2008

Multimedia message

Some dream of pricey trinkets.
Me - all I want is warm weather.
Brrrrrrrrr....

Multimedia message

Monday morning.
Listened to my Tao meditation tape before I left the apartment.
Have decided to cut out TV for at least a little while.
I need to work on my writing more.
Picking up news reading glasses today - hope they help my tired old eyeballs.
Everyone have an amazing morning.

Saturday, February 2, 2008

Multimedia message

On the train.
Funny thing is I'm already planning what to do when I get back home this evening.
It just seems to go quicker when I do laundry etc. at night.
Starting it all in the morning just kills my whole day.
I'm yawning like crazy. Was running like crazy in my dreams last night.
Faces and places from childhood kept popping up all night long.
Feel kinda drained.
Hopefully it will pass.

Friday, February 1, 2008

Multimedia message

It's pouring here in NYC.
My day started off with a call to the tech department of our local cable company.
My husband decided to reboot the set, and lost the picture on all channels.
Hubby loves TV.
Wait I did not express that properly; My husband ABSOLUTELY ADORES TV.
Fortunately I got a really good tech person who walked me through the crisis - and it was a crisis.
So now hubby is happily cruising through 250plus channels as I make my way to Jersey.

Multimedia message

It's freezing out.
On my way to the grocery store.
There's nothing in the fridge but a pound of butter & salad dressing.
I want comfort food, hopefully I will buy what's good for me.
But I get so weak in those aisles.

Multimedia message

The first month of the year is over.
Why does New Years seem like it was so long ago?
It was a busy month that ended quite differently than it began.
February has 29 days this year; I have a feeling that's going to make it a month of surprises.
And that's what keeps life interesting.
Finally decided to put my new blog over at WordPress.com.
One of their paid options allows you to tweak the CSS.
I want change fonts and add a bit of color.
Not much - I want the photos to pop.
Here's my stop - later.

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

Multimedia message

Saw a movie about credit card debt called Maxed Out.
My husband and I have decided to give all our cards a six month rest.
Scareeeee stuff.

Tuesday, January 29, 2008

Multimedia message

And so another day is done.
On the train heading home - should toddle over to le grocery store.
Should do a lot of things actually, but I'm feeling just a little lazy.
Gets that way sometimes.

Multimedia message

My new skin products are making a bit of a difference.
I want to incorporate facial exercise into my regime.
46 and panicky?
Maybe a little, but I've grown accustomed to you look young for your age comments, and want to keep them rolling in for a while longer.
Glad I went to the eye doctor yesterday I got a stronger reading glass prescription.
The owner of the place picked out some kinda cool frames for me in a two tone.
My Flip arrived and I guess I'll take it out for it's first official run on Sunday.
The first picture/video that a new camera takes is very important to me.
Later.

Monday, January 28, 2008

Multimedia message

I hate getting voice mail with no voice.
My phone just pinged and all I heard was loud music like in a bar and then a hang up.
Maybe someone put my number up on a bathroom wall.

Sunday, January 27, 2008

Multimedia message

Stopped in a Chinese-Japanese place for lunch.
Spicy salmon rolls and unagi don - delicious.
Sat and wrote a bit in my notebook, I worked on a list of what I have to do to get myself more organized.
Now let's see if I follow through.
Are you all enjoying your afternoons?

Multimedia message

Sunday.
Just finished posting my Sunday Scribbling. The topic is miscellaneous.
Visited some of the other participants. There are some amazing writers in that group.
Going to head downtown with my camera.
First stop is Starbuck's for steamer, a writing session in my notebook, and then I'm cleaning out my handbag.
There's something about cleaning out my handbag that centers me.

Saturday, January 26, 2008

Multimedia message

Waiting for the train.
The Saturday morning vibe is different from the weekday one.
Got some photos together for The Photo Hunt. They're at The Meme Section.
This week's Sunday Scribbling prompt is miscellaneous.
Just had a thought about that, as soon as I get to where I am going I'm going to freewrite a bit in my notebook, and see where I go with it.

When I was a teen-ager I spent many late nights in The Thalia Theater.
It was an old retro house that showed mostly classic films with a generous handful of B, exploitation, cult, and 50's sci-fi and horror movies.
I knew of Ed Wood and had seen all of his movies 20 years before Depp starred in the story of his life.
It's all renovated now.
They show a few old films, and there's a bar that serves lobster rolls and paninis.
Very trendy with live music.
And while I stop in for the ocassional drink, and to watch people walk by the arge windows, I still miss the old Thalia.

Multimedia message

Back on the train.
The guy at the vitamin place tried to tell me my discount card could only be used the first week of the month.
My eyes turned into green death lasers, and he let me use the card. Hey, it was a difference of 36 dollars - you would have dug your heels in too.

Multimedia message

Having lunch at Big Daddy's Diner near Grammercy Park.
I went for pancakes with carmelized bananas and a side of tater tots.
Is there anything yummier than a basket of crispy tots?
Lane B' has a saver coupon going on, and I got 25 dollars off 90 dollars worth of items that were already on sale.
Kewl, huh?
My tots are getting cold catch you later.

Multimedia message

On the train heading downtown.
Decided to take a day to myself, and even though it got off to a weird start, it will be just fine.
Got the camera and extra batteries along - ready for photo opps.
Have a few small errands including restocking my supply of vitamins.
Be back at you in a bit.

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Multimedia message

Standing on the subway platform.
This is the spot where cell phones can pick up a signal, so there's always a crowd here.
There was a time when I didn't want a cell phone, and now I carry two at all times.
It is the age of constant availabilty.
I'm starving - what will I have tonight?
Well, guess I'll phone the take away place.

It's quiet save for the song which is tugging at my heart.

Multimedia message

On the bus.
The sky has that it's going to snow look to it.
I ordered my Flip yesterday. The one with orange trim appealed to me more than the pink or black.
I got a case and tripod for it too.
Amazon is the most totally amazing place to shop; I thought it was just books and CDs/DVDs.
They've got everything including polka dot halter top sundresses in my size.
It's going to be awesome fun I just know it.
Think I'll look for the online manual today this way I'll know the basics.

Multimedia message

I was all set to sleep in, and then suddenly I wanted to be out and about early.
My Metrocard expired, so I started my day off by spending 76 bucks for a new one.
And they are going up to 81 dollars very soon.
I have to say that they have been doing loads of construction on the platforms. I took some pics yesterday of the work being done. The crews work very quickly. I'm going to post them on blogjem this week.
Later :)

Multimedia message

Just boarded the subway with no particular destination in mind.
My tummy is starting to rumble a bit, so when it gets major rumbly I am getting off and having some lunch.
The camera is along for the ride. It's a very cold but clear day, and I'm hoping to find a few photo opps.
Waving at you all from The Empire State.

Saturday, January 19, 2008

Multimedia message

Saturday - yay.
I'm hoping for a nice clear day tomorrow, so I can take a few pictures.
I'm on the 1 train.
A group of young ambitious students are on my right.
Their leader, a bright young man with future politician practically tatooed across his forehead, explains how all that ails the world can be fixed.
He does this in just three subway stops.
Didn't know it was that simple.
The man to my left sits in dark clothing and a hood. A sort of modern day reaper.
Wish I could have an empanada, but I've given them up. They are just too wonderfully greasy.
And the train moves noisily to the next stop.

Multimedia message

Morning all.
Had to get moving early this morning.
Slept soundly last night, but awoke feeling as if the cast of a Chorus Line had done two full performances on my head.
Hopefully I'll come around enough to get what I need to do done today.
Yesterday was interesting - went shopping for my Flip - that's going to be a detailed post over at my main blog.
Saw No Country for Old Men - good but brutal.
Ate Thai at Galanga. It's a trendy cute place in the Village.
Catch you all later.

Sitting upstairs in Starbucks have a Sparkling Clementine Lizzie.
I'm downtown near Herald Square, and the place is packed with business people. Everyone is on a Blackberry or laptop or both.
Well, time to shop for my Flip.
Sending you all good vibes from the Empire State.

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

Multimedia message

Okay, I'm doing it, I'm buying myself a Flip.
And of course that means I need to set up a vlog or whatever they are calling these things now somewhere.
Should it have a web address all it's own?
Should I be taken to a 12 step meeting for blog-a-holics immediately?
Think I'll have a grilled cheese with tomato and a ginger-ale, and plan this new madness out.

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

Multimedia message

I woke up to a text message followed by a phone call.
It was a good thing too, otherwise I would have slept the entire day away.
There's an aspiring opera singer on the train, and she must be a coloratura. She's hitting notes high enough to crack my phone screen.
Oh her companion is a singer too, they are having a happy little ear splitting duet as I tap away.
Helloooo it's morning on the 1 train people - we are barely awake yet and you are trying to kill us.

Multimedia message

Heading home.
Going to slide myself into a bubble bath and soak my cares away.
Got some genuine henna from India today. Have to be careful with it, otherwise I will end up with Lucy Ball red hair. The goal is a light auburn.

From the subway's Poetry in Motion series:
If there is something to desire,
there will be something to regret.
If there is something to regret,
there will be something to recall.
If there is something to recall,
there was nothing to regret.
If there was nothing to regret,
there was nothing to desire.
--Vera Pavlova
It's nice to look up and read a bit of verse instead of the usual ads for facial peels and talk shows.
Monday morning. It's a bit of a blue one for me.
We all have to have a day like that once in a while.

At my hide out - shhhhhhh! - no of my friends or family knows I frequent this place.
And that's the way I like it.
Having a cocktail and nibbles, writing in notebook, and of course moblogging.
I listened to the second half of Natalie G's seminar on Memoir writing.
She's so incredible. I'd like to get on a plane, fly to Taos, New Mexico, knock on her door, tell her what her work has meant to me, and then fly home.
While I was listening I wrote a quick post at my main blog. It was a list of all my grade school teachers. I could still remember them. What a kick that was - could hardly remember a face from high school - but grade school is no problemo.
Ohmigosh I want to write a post about my English comp teacher in college - she was amazing.
And so the memories flow - like top shelf gin on ice in a cut crystal glass. All glints of sparkly light.
People are talking about the pending storm.
New York see a snowflake and they are ready to call in the Red Cross to hand out donuts.
Catch you all later.

Heading home.
It's the place where they always open the door for you.

Multimedia message

Saturday mornings I like to eat a real breakfast.
Real would be defined as everything I shouldn't have.
I add an oatmeal and juice to the meal to delude myself into thinking it's healthy.

Multimedia message

They're tearing up subway platforms like mad here in NYC. Well, the system is a hundred years old, so it needs a lot of maintenance.
Luck was with me, and the #1 wasn't delayed.
You know I didn't moblog yesterday - the first time since I began it - but we all need a day off from time to time.
The theme for Saturday Photo Hunt was skinny, and I used a photo I took at a subway station, it's at The Meme Section.
Later.

Multimedia message

Woke up with a splitter of a headache.
Walked a bit and shook most of it off.
As soon as I get where I'm going I'm getting some seltzer and juice and making myself a nice cold drink.
Oh what I wouldn't give for two Motrin and the biggest ice cold chai.
But I am firm in my resolve - no more caffeine or over the counter medications.
A woman sits across the aisle from me entertaining her male companion in Charo-like espagnol.
She's dressed like a teen-ager, air brushed nails, sneakers and all.
Her dyed blonde hair is brassy beneath the fluorescents; the black roots make things worse.
Her companion is dazzled by her though.
She uses her hands a lot as she speaks; the brightly colored nailtips create a hypnotic effect.

Lovely afternoon.
Great Thai for lunch in the Village.

My cocktail hour stretched to two and a half.
Heading home.
Feeling good.

I'm wearing a light top with my regular jacket. It's going to drop at least 20 degrees by nightfall.

First stop will be Starbucks for a decaf something or another and a writing session in my notebook.
Back at ya in a bit.

How could I have forgotten rollled slices of bologna with Ritz crackers & Cheez Whiz rosettes sprayed directly on the tip of the tongue?

My copper highlites and I are doing quite well together.
They even look good under the subway's fluorescent lights.
Now let's hope the product isn't discontinued.
Last night as I stared into a fridge totally stripped of all my favorite foods, I took a drink of ice water, and thought of all my most favorite snacks and comforting edibles.
Think that will be the post on my main blog today.

Sitting here in one of my favorite Starbucks sipping an Izze soda, writing in my journal and people watching.
The couple next to me appears to be on their date.
She's American; he's Israeli and desperately trying to charm her.
Fortunately for him she did not see him generously hand the cashier a shiny penny for the tip jar.
"This is for you," he said as it were season tickets.
At first I thought he didn't understand our money, but that theory got flushed as he explained how to change sheckels for dollars to his companion for ten minutes.
Now he's telling her she should get rid of her glasses in favor of contacts, because her eyes are just so beautiful.
He is also her urging her to come to Tel Aviv.
"Don't worry my intentions are pure."
I am nearly splitting in two trying to hold back the laughter.
There's a wanna be rock something talking loudly into headset mic to "dude."
An older gentleman seems determined to read ever word of the Sunday Times or else.
And here I am in the midst of it all.
I broke in my new journal with nothing, just a bit what's happened during this past week.
Also wrote a list of New Year's resolutions for my Sunday Scribblings post.
My last post at my main blog was three random photos: luscious apples from the Famers Market, a really great sign from a dessert place, and an amazing old tree.
I love really old trees. The kind that have bumpy, ridgey, twisty old trunks like they belong in a magical forest.
I'm also re-reading that blog prompt book I gave me as a Christmas present.
It's really quite good.
Well, gotta get it together - almost time to meet the girls.
Happy trails.

Multimedia message

Chilling out at home
watching real life crime shows, and sipping ice cold apple cider.
Friends are taking me out for a belated birthday dinner.
Actually got all the laundry done, and after this show finishes I'm heading out to Starbucks to break in my new journal.
I should get out the NEO and work on my play.
Hope you are all enoying your Sundays.

Multimedia message

An excellent day.
Waiting for the train.
Everyone enjoy your Saturday night.

Multimedia message

Yay! Got a seat on the downtown #1.
Not an easy thing.
Did my demi-tint this morning, so I have lots of coppery hi-lites. Love it. My hair shining like this lifts my spirits. Even gave myself a facial, I need to do more of those. Note to self - pick up a night creme & something to hydrate the eye area. It's time girl.
Good thing I left early, the trains are running very slow today.
A couple next to me gossips about a friend. Seems a woman he picked up tied him to the bedpost, and started to rob him.
She got really pissed when she while going through his wallet.
"You're a Wall Street broker how can you only have three dollars on you?"
Welcome to the NYC subway system.
Packing along my camera for photo opps.
Back at you later.

I am beat.
A full nights sleep on board, and I still look like the walking dead.
Taking Saturday and Sunday for myself.
Saturday is an event; Sunday is for resting, writing and working on my new blog.
Wonder what you are all up to this morning.

Only I would end up in Queens for dinner on a night like this.
The temperature is practically Antarctic.
Had the most delicious sweet corn soup, Aloo Gobi (cauliflower w/potatoes), basmati rice and naan bread.
Yum. Believe me I did not want to leave that nice warm restaurant.
I'm wearing my down coat with collar zipped up so high I can barely see over the edge.
The train has just entered Manhattan.
Hot bubble bath and mud mask here I come.

Multimedia message

Garbled instructions over the subway louder system.
Everyone on the platform is bundled up, even I am in hat and gloves. I hate hats and gloves.
Last night I snapped open my laptop to blog, and drew a total blank. Total blog-block.
Even looked for my book of 100 blog prompts, which was nowhere to be found.
And do you think I could recall even one? Nope.
I lay back on my futon and vegged for quite a while, called a friend who doesn't blog, yes there are still a few who do not blog.
Can you imagine?
Ideas are actually coming to mind now.
I was toast yesterday because of all the robbery stuff.
Fortunately we found a guy to replace the door for a great price.
So life moves on.
They say bad start good finish; let's hope it's true.

Multimedia message

Another day.
Posted some photos on my main blog from a stroll I took yesterday along the Upper East Side,
Only 363 blog365 posts to go.
Last night I bought myself one of those demi-tints; hair coloring that lasts about 6-8 shampoos.
I'm going with a light coppery brown.
Should be fun.
TaTa for now.

Multimedia message

On the F train heading back to Manhattan.
Got my camera with me.
Should I head home for a nap or have a ylittle photostroll?
You know what they say bad start good finish.
And maybe I'll drop by the stores and see what's on clearance.
Oh before I forget:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Multimedia message

Got a call at 6:30am.
My friend's store got robbed.
I'm on my way to help out.
No one was there, so no one got hurt, so everything will be fine.
The merchandise that was taken will be replaced as wil the window that was broken.
If this is the worst thing that happens in 2008, well then it will be an okay year.

Multimedia message

On the train.
Trying to decide where to buy my new journal.
I feel like drinking something rich and fruity like pomegranate or mango.
It's around 5:30pm, and the crowds are surpisngly light considering.
Perhaps they're all at home getting ready to party.
An adorable baby girl sits across from me.
She's looking around with a "What gives?" expression on her face.
I'm going to try and be home by seven.

Multimedia message

I don't remember when I've felt so good about a New Year - it's like my veins have champagne flowing through them.

Multimedia message

New Years Eve Day, and I feel great.
Buying myself a nice new journal this evening.
Will kick off blog365 at one minute after midnight.
2008 is gonna be great.

At Borders Books.
I stopped off at Au Bon Pain - no corn chowder - so I had tomato basil. It was fine.
My seat in the cafe is right next to a window that looks out on 32nd Street & Seventh.
Enormous amount of bustling out there. It's a non-stop parade in both directions.
Several blogging books sit in a pile to my left.
An Asian gentleman is delighted that the seat next to me is free.
He enjoys watching the crowds too.
Looking out windows always reminds me of grandma.
When we were little she often parked herself on a chair, a pillow beneath her elbows, to watch the action on Amsterdam Avenue.
When I was 8 we moved to a new apartment with a terrace and a huge apartment complex across the street.
It was paradise for the old snoop.
If you sat out there with her for 20 minutes you had the lowdown on what was going on.
I miss her very much.
You know she didn't stay up till 12 on December 31st '99 -- I think she was afraid the world would end.
January 1st 2000 was a gorgeous spring-like day. The sunny streets were packed with people smiling as they strolled.
Hey, we were all happy we had made it.
It was the beginning of a new millenium.
Today I was thinking of going through all my old CDs. I'm pretty sure I have a copy of my first ever Xanga blog.
It might be fun to re-read a few posts, and maybe put some on my main blog.
I'm trying to imagine my life without blogging.
Nope not going to happen.
I'll be in my wheelchair moblogging from my cell phone. Hey by then I'll probably be able to speak into my wrist watch, and it will post instantly.
My imagination has scooped me up, and run away with me.
Time for another mango orange soda.
Geez whiz the line is so long.
I guess Borders 34th Street is the place to be.
There's something going on at Madison Square Garden tonight.
Quite a few young people are entering the building.
I remember going with Daddy and my younger brother Joey to see wrestling matches there back in the early 70's.
My father loved "wrassling."
His favorites were Bruno Sammartino, Andre the Giant, Haystacks Calhoun, Baron Mikel Secluna & Chief Jay Strongbow.
We booed The Valentine Brothers with their bleached blond hair during tag team matches.
We all went to the China Bowl one night after the match, and Ivan Putski, a famous Polish wrestler, was there.
He spent quite a bit of time talking with us kids, and my brother and his friends yelled Polish Power - Putski's battle cry - all during the next day.
Well, let's see if I can get that soda now.

Multimedia message

Sunday afternoon and I'm on a downtown 2 train.
Will probably meet a friend for dinner and maybe a movie.
Didn't have a morsel to eat today, so I'll have something light like soup or a small sandwich just to take the edge off.
A bowl of Au Bon Pain's corn chowder would be perfect.
I wrote some free verse for Sunday Scribblings. The theme was now and then.
Ciao for now.

Multimedia message

Okay finally on my way.
I had to switch outfits after I heard NY1 Weather.
It's going to nearly 60 today.
Veggies and pasta are already on my mind. I've had lunch at the new place every day since they opened.
The salad and olive bar are scrumptious,
Things have been so hectic that I forgot to do Saturday Photo Hunt - hopefully there's something in my files that's appropriate for the theme.
Good work for someone whose committing to blog365 huh?
2008 The Year of Blogging.

Okay weather don't pull any shifty moves I want to get out with the camera tomorrow and have a major photostroll.
Just finished posting some Atlantic City pictures here and there.
You can check them out at blojem and photostroll - both links are in my sidebar.

Greetings.
Strange night's sleep.
No dreams that I can remember.
Yet I feel like there's something I want to forget.
Read briefly about something called Script Frenzy last night.
Joined Blog365 over at Ning yesterday.
Blog everyday for 365 days - February 29th is the official day off - it's going to be fun.
Now I have to decide whether I am doing monthly themes or a year long one.
A photo a day might be interesting. So many possibilities, and New Years just a few days away.

Morning.
It's misty here in New York. Misty is what I call rain that is so light you don't need an umbrella.
Got up early and soaked in a hot tub.
Had to relax a bit because Thursday is taking care of bills day.
The universe is always good to me, I made it through with a few bucks to spare.
Thank you. Thank you. Oh great God(desses) of finance.
Got the cutest Christmas card from my blog buddy Karina.
And a Secret Santa gift of cookies, coffee and an expresso cup and saucer.
Naughty me ate the cookies right away.
Well now to go make some trouble somewhere.

It's 1:32 and the bus just pulled out of the terminal.
Jersey friend fell asleep almost immediately.
After a night of playing three hand poker we were down quite a bit, and then suddenly we scored a few good hands and made our money back - we ran like thieves.
The casino comped us for breakfast, and afterwards we went outside so I could take some pics.
That's when we discovered it.
What you ask?
The Walk - home to over 100 stores!
We left just about all our money there.
I got two gorgeous suits, a Kenneth Cole bag and a small change purse.
I am so beat - time for some zzzzz's.

Multimedia message

We've been on the road over an hour and a half non-stop.
The bus is totally dark, save for the glow of my trusted Nokia.
We should be in Atlantic City soon.
Got my camera with me for when the sun comes up.
The beach is beautiful on a winter morning.
I'm breaking my no caffeine thing. Haha - some go all out with liquor on a night out - for me the Diet Coke will flow like water.
We're going to play slots & three card poker.
I like red, white and blue 7's machines.
Years back I was trying to straighten out something with the cable service. The operator was very friendly, and I mentioned I was going to Bally's.
She told me to be sure and play a red, white and blue 7's machine.
She had the sweetest voice, very southern, you could practically smell magnolia blossoms when she spoke.
When my friend and I arrived at the casino, we circled like vultures til we found one.
It paid off 5000 quarters in just a few pulls.
It was amazing to see the lights flashing, and hear that pulsating noise.
Hey, we're here!

Multimedia message

Am on my way to Atlantic City with Jersey friend in tow.
We were going to bright and early Wednesday morning, but then I had this urge to go tonight.
So here we are on the 11 pm bus on Christmas night.
Are we crazy or what?
Wish me luck.
Happy Christmas.

Multimedia message

On the train.
Didn't get to do a photostroll yesterday.
Just to wet and windy.
Packing the camera along today, I want to get some pics of Rockefeller Center tonight.
I'm certifiable you know, for even thinking of going downtown on Christmas Eve.
Someone asked me what I wanted for a present, and I could honestly answer not a thing.
My daughter is well. I have hubby, friends, a roof over my head, and a couple of bucks in my pocket - Life Is Good.

Still here at Starbucks.
I almost feel like going home for a nap.
It's the weather - it's that kind of rain that makes you want to snooze for hours.
Part of me wants to join the shopping throng.
Actually there might be less madness because of the weather.
But do I feel like getting on the subway?
The little boy at the next table is going to be a major heart breaker.
Not even a year old and flirting outrageously with every woman who passes by his table.
Several people are bent over notebooks, and several others hold animated cell phone conversations.
What did I do before I had a cell phone? Or a laptop? Or a blog?
It's all blurry.

Multimedia message

Just scored one of the overstuffed chairs at Starbucks.
How cool is that?
The lady in the opposite seat is wearing many layers of clothing over a too thin body, and tinsel in her hair.
She just covered her face with her hands, and went to sleep.
I'm going to let my decaf cool a while.
After I post this I'm going to write in my notebook, and then read some more of my book on blog legalities.
You just wouldn't believe how careful someone who is blogging for business has to be.
I'm not blogging for bucks, but it wouldn't hurt me to know a little about the subject.
One of the staff just woke the sleeping lady up.
She looks awful - wonder what her story is - she's dressed to well to be homeless.
Time for my notebook.
Ta-Ta.

Multimedia message

Just realized I didn't do any memes this week.
Guess I'm preoccupied with plans for 2008.
I am visualizing 12 great months.
Last night I listened to a workshop on writing memoir by Natalie Goldberg.
She's the author of Writing Down The Bones.
Read that and you'll change your writing life for all time.

Multimedia message

Just had a major sneeze attack on the subway platform.
Is there anything more embarassing?
And it wasn't tiny lady-like sneezes, it was loud noisy aaaaaachooooooos that doubled me over.
I felt like a walking plague.
It's not a cold; it's all the overwhelming scents that people wear combined with dust and such.
How are you doing?

Multimedia message

Just found out that a friend from long ago passed away last night.
She was only 57, with many health problems.
Christmas was her favorite holiday. Every year she would add a few new decorations to her collection. It got to the point where you thought you were in Santa's workshop!
From what I understood she had not been well enough to decorate this year.
It would have been nice if she had been surrounded with her holiday treasures before she left this plane of existence.

A man sits across from me on the subway.
Thumbs and forefingers form perfect circles.
Perhaps enlightenment will arrive before the next stop.

Multimedia message

Bus station - some sort of watered down hip-hop on the sound system.
Everyone piling on to the ole 186.
Hmmmm...I'll wait until the stampede is over.
Ah here's an old lady paying with pennies. The driver deserves a medal for his patience.
The river is quiet. No procession of garbage scows or the Circle Line plugging along.
My queendom for some ice cold apple juice.

Multimedia message

There's been a break in the weather - the temp is going up to 45 here in NYC today.
It practically feels balmy.
Anyhooo I'm feeling pretty good because I've been sleeping a whole lot better in the last week or so.
My latest reading material is a book about the legalities related to business blogging.
It's amazing how something so simple became so big so quick.
A new blog is born every second - around 80 thousand a day.
I wonder how many of them will be maintained for at least a year?

Trying to decide whether to go shopping or rent a movie, buy some snacks and head home.
I made a final decison about where to host the new blog, and now I just have to pick a font for my logo.
The header may or may not be a compilation of photos.
Have to get it all together for the full moon on the 24th.

Multimedia message

Happily blog browsing.
Christmas carols on the easy listening station.
Things are good.

Multimedia message

Morning you guys.
Got myself out early - unusual for a Monday.
The usual suspects are here on the train with me.
A homeless man eating happily out of a paper bag.
A middle-aged man in glasses whose mouth hangs wide open.
I can hear my dad yelling out: "You looking to catch flies?"
A young lady with air brushed nails so long they've torn her gloves fiddles with a small plastic tube. Lip gloss - she's finally got it operating. Girl just how many coats are you going to put on those lips of yours?
The man with the open mouth is now clenching his teeth.
A Hispanic woman dozes peacefully against a poster advertising Big Love.
Me, I'm the dirty blonde in the black down jacket tapping the keys of what looks like a phone.
Enjoy your day.

Multimedia message

Waiting for the F
train - great birthday dinner with best gal.
Better break out the notebook and rough out some notes for Scribblings.

Multimedia message

On my way to Brooklyn - the F train is rather soggy.
The rain and wind are almost all gone; I'm hoping tomorrow will be clear.
Stopped at one of my favorite neighborhood spots last night - they have some very nice waitstaff that make you feel welcome.
Add a couple of drinks and a plate of Bolognese to the equation and the "decompression" process completes nicely.
Don't know where best galpal is taking me for dinner tonight, but honestly Hot Diggity Dogs woud be fine.
Yes, it's an actual place and it's yummy.
They serve Royal Crown Cola - which is something you don't see around much anymore.
But I'm supposed to be off caffeine.
But I would make an exception at Diggity's.
But we're not going there, probably we'll have Thai.
When I get home tonight I'm posting to Sunday Scribblings.
I was going to do it this afternoon, but decided instead to meditate - for almost 2 hours.
Free floated in the corpse pose.
Wow, this train is crowded, but it usually is when you're going through the Lower East Side stops.
I am still trying to decide where to host my latest blog.
Typepad is the front runner so far.
Hope you are all en route to fun times too.

Multimedia message

New York caught a bit of that Nor'ester.
The whooshing of the wind woke me up around 9am.
The ping ping of sleet aganst the air conditioner kept me up.
I'm heading out to Brooklyn in a bit to catch up with best galpal.
It has too be really bad for me not to go out.
Actually I can't remember the last time I stayed in because of the elements.

Saturday, December 15, 2007

Multimedia message

It's freezing out today; I had to break out the long down jacket.
It's barely 9:30 am, but I've already gotten a lot done.
I'm starving,
Cold weather makes me so hungry.
As soon as I get off this bus I will seek sustenance.

Friday, December 14, 2007

Multimedia message

I was so busy grumbling and pacing for a bus, that I nearly missed it.
It was one of those drivers who pulls the bus up to the shelter thirty seconds before departure time.
Most others pull in at least three to four minutes in advance.
Well I guess he thinks he's just hired to drive the bus around to show it off, and that passengers don't figure in the equation.

Multimedia message

Last night I bought some more web addresses.
I had to - the most perfect name possible for my New York website/blog became available.
The big decision now is which hosting service to use.
It's got to be one where I can do a blog & pages.
I may do the web page and blog as separate items and link them. I don't know yet.
This is going to be so much fun.
It will launch on the next Full Moon, so I have a few days to shop features.
Most of yesterday's snow has melted away.
My daughter who lives in MA has so much snow in her backyard that she'll have to shovel a path for her bulldog. She's afraid of losing her short legged sidekick in all that white stuff.
They're working on the boiler in my building, so I took a mind numbing cold shower and shampoo.
I pretended I was Scandinavian, and had just left my sauna to frolic in the snow.

Thursday, December 13, 2007

Multimedia message

I'm in Jersey. It began to snow the minute I got off the bus. It's really piling up out there, Fortunately I've got a ride back to the city.
I bought two new web addresses today. Some people have a thimble collection, me I've got web addresses.
These two are candidates for the New York website project I'm working on.
Everyone likes the first one I chose best.
I'm thinking though that the second one could be better.
I've already got a logo sketched out in my mind for it.

Just finished re-reading two issues of a personal e-zine written by a She Who Blogs member.
The young lady bares her soul through personal essays and poetry.
I always wanted to publish my own magazine, so seeing this young dynamo pull it off just makes me want to jump up and down Rocky style.
I'm on line at the post office; it's the place I avoid at all costs. Today I have a couple of Christmas cards to Air Mail, but hey it gives me some time to get myself together.
Last night I posted to Writers Island. The prompt was The Moment, so I wrote about how I'd like the moment of my death to play out.
Kind of strange to do the night before your birthday, but writing it did not make me sad at all.
Perhaps envisoning it will make it happen in that way.
I chose to walk down to the 68th St. Branch. It's in a high end building, so I hope that means they'll move faster.
I have to check online for the next full moon. I want to open my fictional and audio blogs on that night.
It's amazing how patient everyone is being. There's about 35 people ahead of me online.
It's nearly 3pm and I haven't eaten yet, other than the decaf and three Madeleine cookies.
Amazingly enough I really don't know what I want.
Actually a nice fresh chicken salad sandwich would be perfect, but it's so hard to find without celery or tarragon.
I like mine made with fresh roasted boneless chicken breast - shredded - and mixed with fresh mayonnaise.
I like it on a nice firm white bread like Pepperidge Farms Big Slice, not the spongy type that tears as soon as the knife swipes it.
A middle-aged lady just called the stamp vending machine a one armed bandit.
After I finish here I'd like to go buy myself a really nice sweater to wear tomorrow.
Either a plain black or something dazzling with color.
No middle of the road for this girl.
Hey, I am almost at the head of the line - with another post done.
Wooooo hooooooo!

Multimedia message

I'm sitting here in Starbucks sipping on decaf Machiotto and plotting my next move.
It took me hours to fall asleep last night - a nasty incident in a parking lot kept replaying in my mind.
And I don't even drive!
Tomorrow is my 46th, and I am totally delighted.
It's a wonderous number.
Hey add 4 and 6 and I become a 10 :)

Monday, December 10, 2007

Multimedia message

So I got my Blackjack phone, and I will be using it to post photos here.
The camera has the same 1.3 megapixels as my Sony, but with more photo editing features.
I'll still do my posts with my trusted Nokia - it has an awesome QWERTY keypad that is very easy on the wrists.
My friend J and I had a great 3 hours of Mexican food and chat last night.
She is one of my favorite people.
Well, let's see what manner of mayhem this Monday will bring.

Multimedia message

This week's Sunday Scribbling prompt is COMPETITION.
I thought it might be interesting to sit here in Starbucks on a Sunday afternoon and moblog my entry with my Nokia phone.
I am moments from 46, and I have to tell you I get less competitive with each birthday.
Memories are flashing up on my mind's screen.
Of course names are changed to protect the guilty.
My friend Cecile is one of the prettiest women I know, her attitude is another story.
Her second husband Guy was a John Belushi look-a-like with a magnetic personality.
He was getting on her nerves, so in order to teach him a lesson she left him.
She hooked up with a male model who told her she was quite pretty for someone with a five year old.
Guy began dating a blonde whose claim to fame was that she had once appeared in a very well known lingerie company's catalogue.
The male model dropped Cecile who had turned heads everywhere she went all her life.
Guy's new girl moved in with him.
Cecile came to me crying.
I told her there is no one who is the end all be all - there's always someone younger and prettier.
Lesson learned: Excercise and build up the mind - it's the sexiest part of us.
My daughter was about 10 or so, and decided that she wanted to try a team sport.
We signed her up for the local community center's softball team.
She got the position of back catcher, and her father and I winced our way through every game. She was beaned repeatedly by balls, still she would not give up.
When the All-Star competition came they chose her because even though she was awful she never gave up.
Her golden moment came when she caught the winning ball.
I can still see her gloved hand reaching up, and hear the plop of the ball landing.
They lifted her in the air, the parents all applauded wildly for the little girl who finally got her golden moment.
As we walked home, she smlied broadly and said, "Well, I think I've played enough softball."
Lesson learned - It feels good to retire at the top of your game.
Sometimes as I wak around the city I see women my age running around dressed like kids.
You also see a lot of lips that look like mattresses, and skin so tight it hurts to look at it.
Last night I took inventory at the mirror.
There's a bit of a crease under each eye, the lids are holding there own despite a little sag, and there's a line on both corners of my mouth.
When I smile they go away.
So I'll just keep smiling.
May you all keep smiling.
Thank you for dropping by - Frances

Taking tomorrow for myself.
Best galpal and I will celebrate my b-day next Sunday.
I have a few things to get done tomorrow including buying and sending a Secret Santa gift.
I've never done Secret Santa.
I have to check the Elfster page tonight to make sure she doesn't have any dislikes.
Daughter is on the way back to MA.
You know what's really satisfying?
Having a kid who you'd love even if she wasn't yours.
She's a good person.
I am blessed.

Multimedia message

Heading back to city soon.
Guess what? I got the Blackjack phone I wanted as an early birthday/Christmas gift.
Yay!

Multimedia message

We met up with daughter and her hubby last night.
Dinner was Italian, at a restaurant that was one of my father's favorites.
Our waiter was so clueless. Or maybe it was nearsightedness, you practically had to send up a flare to get his attention.
We had a wonderful time.
She should be back for her 25th birthday. I have to tell you it was quite funny to hear her talking about her approaching quarter century, and the fact that 30 was bearing down on her.
I'll be 46 next week - try that one kiddo.

On the bus.
The river has bits of ice here and there.
Even the skyline looks cold; everything is shades of grey and white.
Most of the fall foliage is gone. The bare tree branches seem to be reaching out to me.

My daughter is coming tonight.
I haven't seen her in a year.
I'm so excited I can't do anything right.

I long for summer, and here winter has just begun.
Did you like the pictures I posted?
Hopefully they are here. Believe it or not it's going on 6pm, and I still haven't gone online.
If they made it you should see some shots from outside one of my favorite antique stores.
Actually I've never bought anything there; it's a favorite because of the photo opps it provides.
They get a lot statuary.
Here's my stop.
Adios Muchachos!
So I 'm sitting here on the #1 thinking about a letter I've been meaning to write for a while now.
I just may do it tonight.
The rush hour crowd is pretty quiet. I guess everybody had a hard day.

Decided to do a little shopping & photo moblogging
today.
Can you imagine I left the apartment without going online?
Sometimes we must all cut the power cord.
I'll save a little energy for some blogging tonight - I want to do a Thursday Thirteen and write some e-mails this evening.
Be back at ya!

On the train.
One of my blog buddies did some sleuthing, and it looks like these infuriating comment changes at Blogger might not be permanant.
I'm having quite a bit of fun with the Ning thing - if you're a writer, artist or musician be sure to check it out.
I really enjoyed blogging memoirs during NaBloPoMo, and would like to do another series.
Have to let that idea simmer a while.
Waving at you all from mass transit.

The day ended much better than it started.
I'm watching a move called Fifty Pills. Its only been on for about ten minutes, and I know I'm going to enjoy it.

I just came from the bank. All I wanted was a simple checking account. The rep tried to sell me on every service in the place. So annoying.
I am on the train now, taking deep breathes, and hoping that old adage "bad start good finish," will be true for my Monday.
Blogger has changed the commenting system, and I am less than thrilled. I have to create a direct link to attach to comments. Actually I have to create one for each blog.
Okay quick Frances come up with some positive stuff, because this post is becoming a downer.
It rained last night and washed all the snow away, and it is not too cold today.
Last night I found my favorite thermal shirt. It's soft and warm, and the color of faded blue denim.
And this Friday my daughter is coming.
Better.

My meet-up with my Inked-In group went really well.
The snow kept folks away, but we three had a merry time.
You'll find a post at my main site blogjem with all the details tomorrow.
Even though I don't like snow I'll still walk around it. And I have to admit I do like to photograph it.
I got qite a few photo opps between the subway and the restaurant.
It was my first Sardinian restaurant and I must say they do make a good sauce.
Right now I am in one of my favorite neighborhood spots.
After the meet up I went home and downoaded my pics.
A Parker Posy movie was on for background - Broken English. It was about taking chances. I love Parker
Grandma used to say that a lot, "sometimes Franny you have to take a chance."
Most of my great times have come from giving things nobody else would a chance.
Everyone have a great evening, and take a chance.

Inked In, a group I belong to over at Ning, is having a New York meet up today.
It's going to be down on Mott Street - so I'm on the subway.
It snowed today, but it wasn't a heavy storm. Thank you Universe.
After this I'm going to go pick out Christmas cards, and buy a few little things for my daughter.

On the train.
Wearing the warmest sweater I own. Funny how a simple garment can give you a sense of security.
I reopened my meme blog early this morning.
At some time between today and tomorrow I'll post to the creative writing one.
I can't decide on a name for my fictional blog.
I can always use my web address fictionalblog.com, and the WordPress I opened has a similar address, but I want the blog itself to have a cool name.
Now that's going to be on the backburner all day.

More laundry.
I really started something when I began going through the dressers and closet.
While the laundry was going I turned on the TV. Caught the end of a Waltons episode, I haven't seen that show in years.
The clothes are in the dryer, and now Little House on the Praire is on.
I swear the schmaltz police are gonna knock on the door any minute.

One more NaBloPoMo to write and I am done.
Today I worked on my fictional blog idea. I think I will go WordPress with that one because of the pages option. I can also purchase a .com for it there.
Though I read on Biz Stone today that you can buy a domain name at Blogger too.
I actually have a couple of good names that I already own.
Think I'll sit down and write in my notebook a while; it helps me sort things out.
I am looking forward to all my character's adventures.

On a Jersey bound bus.
This is one of the nastiest bus drivers that ever crossed the GWB.
Did I ever have a row with him one night,
Called him everything you can imagine, and some you can't.
As I remember the other passengers cheered me on.

Morning. Just finished more laundry. Daughter is coming next Friday, and since we are the same size I 'm giving her some things of mine that she likes quite a bit.
She's also getting some china I bought at an auction years ago.
It will look nice on display in her breakfront.
I'm not a Dolly Domestic like her.
She refinishes furniture and makes all kinds of decorative items.
Me? I blog. LOL.

Ah there's nothing like tuna casserole and corn dogs.
Recently I introduced a non-American friend to the wonders of the corn dog.
It's about as perfect a food as you can get, and it's on a stick - no dishes to wash.

Yes! Brother Jimmy's still does White Trash Wednesdays.
It's like coming home again.
A half dozen TVs with sporting events competes with loud music and even louder patrons.
They still serve gold fish bowls filled with liquor and multiple straws.
I got ginger-ale.
Here's my food...

Afternoon and evening went well.
I'm just thinking about Brother Jimmy's.
Wonder if they still do White Trash Wednesdays?
All the fried chicken, ribs, tuna casserole and corn dogs you could eat.
It's the cold weather that gets me thinking of comfort food.
It's the comfort food that makes our clothes fit so uncomfortably!
NaBloPoMo and NaNoWriMo is almost over.
It was a great experience.
I am so hungry!

Don't know where all this ambition is coming from - got a day's worth of errands done by 11am.
Was going to stay in city, but I decided to head for Jersey instead.
Everything seems to be pointing me in that direction.
The downtown train entrance was blocked off due to cnstruction, and the uptown is skipping stops - it's like the city is telling me to beat it.
I sent out two gifts today - one to daughter and one to Heart.
My NaBloPoMo today is about Heart's early birthday gift to me.
Every year he creates something wonderful with his own hands.
This year he outdid himself.
